SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer program treks to Southern California for a pair of road matches this week, opening at San Diego State on Thursday at 8 p.m. at SDSU Sports Deck and finishing at UC San Diego on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Triton Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers (0-2) head out to America's Finest City, hungry for action against the Aztecs (2-1) and the Tritons (2-1-1).

A bright spot for Pacific in the early goings this season has been sophomore Yohonna Bell. Bell has earned a point in each of the first two contests to begin the 2026 campaign, including her first collegiate goal against the Wolf Pack last time out. Bell paces the Tigers' offense with three points and four shots on goal in 143 minutes this year.

Senior Kaya Rosa and sophomore Makayla Marin-Valencia have also found the back of the net in Pacific's season opener at Sacramento State, seeking to carry on that road success in this week's trip.

Through two matches, the Tigers have split the assignments in goal between sophomore Lis Van Herwijnen and freshman Ava Wells. The former started the season opener against the Hornets and made three saves while the latter made her collegiate debut in the home opener, notching a pair of saves off seven shot attempts.

San Diego State joined the revived Pac-12 Conference this season, collecting a pair of wins over UCSD in the season opener (2-0) and Portland State at home (1-0).

Kendall Moore has been a force to be reckoned with at the start of the year with a team-high two goals and four points in three matches. Victoria Miller has attempted the most shots with nine attempts and five on target.

In goal, Kailey Carlen sports a 0.33 goals against average with nine saves in three starts. Carlen was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 18.

Pacific and SDSU will meet for the first time since 2005 where the Aztecs held on for a 1-0 victory on Sept. 23 in San Diego.

Three days following Thursday, the Tritons will await the Tigers to conclude the Southern California trip. Following a season-opening 2-0 loss to the Aztecs, the Tritons won two straight over Utah Tech (4-2) and at UNLV (2-1). Most recently, UCSD drew a scoreless contest against Northern Arizona in Flagstaff.

Ava Tibor has netted a pair of goals on seven shot attempts for the Tritons in four matches, leading her team in those categories. Charlotte Wilfert has played all but ten minutes this season in goal, owning a 1.03 goals against average with 12 saves and a clean sheet.

Pacific is 2-0-2 all-time against UCSD, including a 1-0 road win during the 2024 season in La Jolla, California. Last year, the Tigers and the Tritons settled for a 0-0 draw at Knoles Field. In that contest, Van Herwijnen made her first career appearance in goal, collecting three saves in the clean sheet.

Thursday's contest will be streamed live on the Pac-12 page on YouTube at 8 p.m. and Sunday's contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with a 2 p.m. kick-off.
