STOCKTON, Calif. – Marking the first home athletic contest on campus this academic year, the Pacific women's soccer program welcomes Nevada for its 2026 home opener on Thursday at 7 p.m. from Knoles Field.
The Tigers (0-1) are in search of some home cooking against the Wolf Pack (0-0) with recent success against their opposition this week.
Pacific showcased moments of offensive prowess against Sacramento State with sophomore
Makayla Marin-Valencia and senior
Kaya Rosa finding the back of the net in the second half.
Marin-Valencia, who made her first career start for the Tigers, recorded a team-high two shots in 54 minutes. Rosa, tied with senior
Whitney Garn for the team lead in goals (2) last season, rides a two-game goal scoring streak going back to the 2025 campaign where she scored in the season finale against Washington State.
Sophomore
Lis Van Herwijnen drew the season-opening assignment in goal last Thursday, notching three saves in the 90-minute effort. Last year, Herwijnen posted a 1.86 goals against average with a team-high 62 saves in 14 starts. Against Nevada in her freshman campaign, the native of Veldhoven, Netherlands earned her first collegiate win on the road, making a pair of saves off six shot attempts from the Wolf Pack offense.
Nevada opened its 2026 season with a 2-0 win in an exhibition match against UC Merced at Mackay Stadium. Avery Hayes and Saige McCusker scored the Wolf Pack's goals in the victory over the Bobcats.
Olivia Loomis returns as one of Nevada's most dangerous attackers after posting two goals and six points last season. Loomis was named to the Mountain West Women's Soccer Watch List along with teammates Landri Steenhard and Valeria Ramon.
Mia Collins started all but one contest last year, sporting a 2.56 GAA and 101 saves in 16 matches. Collins had one clean sheet last season against Grand Canyon on Oct. 2. She gave up two goals on 14 shots faced by Pacific when the two programs met last year on Sept. 11 in Reno, Nevada.
The Tigers own an 8-4 all-time record over the Wolf Pack. The Tigers ride a three-match winning streak after defeating the Wolf Pack, 2-1, in 2025 on the road. Ten current Tigers played in that match with junior
Gianna Gagliano competing for the full 90 minutes on the back line.
Thursday's match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Kyle Morrison on the call for the 7 p.m. kick-off from Knoles Field.
