BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program dropped a non-conference tilt at Cal State Bakersfield, 8-1, on Monday night from Hardt Field.
The Tigers (10-21) let two big innings get to them early, allowing the Roadrunners (14-18) to capitalize with a pair of four-run spots to take the first of three meetings this year.
Graduate student
Brendan O'Sullivan collected his team-leading tenth multi-hit performance, going 2-for-5 from the lead-off spot. Sophomore
Diego Davis hit an RBI triple in the ninth inning, scoring junior
Alex Dolan. It was the first triple of Davis' career at Pacific.
Redshirt senior
Nathen Nino (0-1) made his first start of the season, going 1.0 inning and giving four runs (one earned) with two strikeouts. Junior
Regan Carter and freshman
Connor Raridan pitched effective scoreless frames. Raridan struck out the side as part of a clean seventh inning.
The Roadrunners scored four in the second inning and four in the fourth inning, making a hole that Pacific could not dig out of.
The Tigers will resume West Coast Conference play, heading to Malibu, California to take on Pepperdine in a three-game series beginning Friday.
