Senior Day Moved Up to Sunday, No. 19 Pacific Hosts No. 23 CBU in Final Home Game

STOCKTON, Calif. – Golden Coast Conference action continues Sunday when the No. 19 Pacific women's water polo program brings in No. 23 Cal Baptist for a 1 p.m. game on Senior Day at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
 
The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free rally towel giveaway.
 
Pacific (9-7, 1-2 GCC) moved up its Senior Day after Santa Clara announced it will forfeit its contest on Thursday, March 26. The Tigers will honor lone senior Amaya Leiby after Sunday's game.
 
Pacific is 2-1 at home this season with wins over Fresno Pacific and No. 14 UC Davis. The Tigers have won two of their last three matches which includes a victory over No. 17 San Jose State.
 
Junior Laia Marsinach Ortega leads the team with 38 goals and 12 assists on the season. She won GCC Player of the Week honors on March 13 and is coming off a hat trick against No. 7 LMU.
 
Freshmen Maria Ikonomou and Sophie Pethers have netted 27 and 20 goals, respectively. Three of Pacific's top-five goal scorers are freshmen.
 
Pacific is 18-11 all-time against the Lancers (12-9, 2-2 GCC) and have won 12 consecutive meetings dating back to 2014. The Tigers are 10-1 all-time against CBU at home.
 
In last year's match-up, Pacific won 13-11 on the road as the Tigers jumped out to a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Junior goalkeeper Maja Lizy Dulic made 14 saves.
 
Pacific will conclude the regular season at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28 in a GCC road match at Fresno State. The Tigers will return to Fresno on April 10-12 for the conference tournament.
