STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program dropped the series finale to Sacramento State by a 18-6 margin in seven innings on Sunday afternoon at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (8-10) and Hornets (7-13) ended up splitting the four-game set after Pacific took the middle two games on Friday and Saturday.
Freshman
Peyton Richards came off the bench and wasted no time crushing his first career home run that drove in three Tigers.
Redshirt freshman
Liam Smith (1-2) earned the start and gave up nine runs in 1.2 innings. Four more Tigers pitched in relief of Smith.
The Hornets scored in every inning but the fifth inning on their way to taking the game. A seven-run second inning by Sacramento State put this one away early on.
The Tigers continue their ten-game homestand on Tuesday, welcoming Winthrop to Klein Family Field with a 6 p.m. first pitch.
