STOCKTON, Calif. – Helping lead the No. 21 Pacific women's water polo program to a pair of big results, junior
Laia Marsinach Ortega was tabbed the Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week winner Thursday.

Ortega, from Barcelona, Spain, registered eight goals and four assists over two games last week including a whopping six goals against San Jose State. She's up to a team-high 35 goals on the season.

Ortega was part of a Tigers team that ousted No. 14 UC Davis 8-7 and No. 17 San Jose State 15-14 in overtime. Ortega scored the game-winner against SJSU with 2:00 remaining in the second overtime period.

Ortega has helped Pacific win six of the last seven matches. She and the Tigers will be back in action Saturday when they host No. 7 LMU at 11 a.m. at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
