SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program fell, 10-0, in a seven-inning run-rule fashion to Sacramento State on Wednesday night from John Smith Field.
The Tigers (6-10) collected just two hits throughout the evening, thanks to redshirt sophomore
JT Shank's 2-for-3 effort against the Hornets (6-11).
Pacific sent freshman
Maddox Moreno (0-3) to initially toe the rubber for his second start of the season and fourth appearance of the 2026 campaign. Moreno went 2.0 innings and allowed one earned run on one hit in that span. Three more Tigers took the mound in relief of Moreno.
Sacramento State scored the game's opening run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run and never looked back. A five-run seven inning ultimately closed the book on the run-rule affair in the state capital.
Looking ahead, the Tigers will have one day off to prepare for their second game in Sacramento before returning home after playing the last ten away from Klein Family Field. Wednesday's game will start with a 6 p.m. first pitch.
