Pacific Splits Day Two of Paradise Classic

HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Tigers softball program picked up its first win of 2026 defeating Seattle 8-6 in game one of the day before falling to host Hawaii 6-2 inside the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium at the Paradise Classic in game two Friday.

GAME 1
The first extra base hits of junior Bailey Boetjer's division one career came at clutch moments in the ball game, first putting Pacific (1-2) ahead in the third inning with a homerun to left field that brought in three RBIs for a 4-2 lead. She then broke a 4-4 tie the very next inning with a double to centerfield that scored two more runners and put the team ahead for good. Boetjer finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs, a homerun and a double. In fact the junior has already tied for the third most RBIs in a single game in Pacific history in just her second game donning the orange and black. She is the first entry on that list since Nicole Zapotoczny in 2014.

Boetjer was not the only Tiger to excel at the plate in the game, however, as senior Allie Capello followed up her three-hit performance on Thursday with the team's first homer of the season. The senior got a hold of the pitch in the top of the first and drove it over the wall in left center for the early 1-0 lead. She would also walk twice in the game and came around to score two runs.

Some help from Seattle (2-2) miscues fielding and a sacrifice fly from sophomore Peyton Clifford further padded the Pacific lead and gave junior Justice Alcaraz the run support needed to spin a complete game win in the circle. The junior was able to pick up her first win of the season mostly by pitching to contact. She induced 11 ground outs, seven fly outs and the defense played solid behind her turning their second double play of the season and committed only one error.

Of the 11 hits Pacific notched in game one, seven of which went for extra bases. Redshirt senior Olivia Silvestre hit two doubles, senior Jordan Hayes hit a double, and junior Kaylah Adams got in on the action with a double of her own.

It's the first win over Seattle since 2017. The Redhawks will come to Stockton at the beginning of April for the first conference showdown between the two schools.

GAME 2
The bats quieted down in game two for the Tigers, only able to mash one extra base hit coming off the bat of Silvestre in the first at bat of the game. She would come around to score as freshman Tauavepeaoumamalu Risati singled her home a couple batters later. Clifford and Hayes cashed in on a Hawaii (3-0) mistake in the second and manufactured the team's second run of the game.

Hayes was busy on the base paths in the second game reaching base three times via the walk.

Sophomore Kaytee Dahlstrom made her Pacific debut and was the pitcher of record, taking the loss with a final line of six innings pitched, eight hits, five runs (four earned) and six strikeouts. Junior Ariel Nava did appear in the game in the fifth inning, walking two batters before handing the ball back to Dahlstrom. The sophomore falls to 0-1 on the season.
