STOCKTON, Calif. – On Friday morning the Pacific men's tennis team battled hard but was defeated by UC Santa Barbara 7-0 at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

Sophomores Jonty Giesen on Niv Zuckerman on doubles court one pulled out the only victory for the team this morning, defeating their opponents 6-3. On the season the pair improved to 2-1.

Zuckerman followed up his strong showing in doubles with a competitive singles match, forcing his opponent on court four to a first set tiebreaker before ultimately falling. Junior Christof Schaertlin
Coffey had a similar experience in singles, dropping a close first set tiebreaker on singles court two before falling in set two.

The team now has seven days before it plays its next match, going to California on Saturday, February 14 at 10:30 a.m. to face the Golden Bears. The Tigers (3-2) have not been to Berkeley since the 2022-23 season.
