STOCKTON, Calif. – Fresh off a bye week, the Pacific men's tennis program returns to the court to face UC Davis in the season's first true road test on Wednesday at 2 p.m. followed by a return to the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on Friday at 10 a.m. to take on UC Santa Barbara.
Recent matches between the Tigers (2-1) and Aggies (3-3) have come down to the final court as the last two meetings have been decided 4-3 – with each school pulling out the win on their home courts. Graduate
Terence Das was part of the Tigers' most recent win in 2024, pulling off a singles win on court four and a doubles win on court two.
This season, sophomores
Jonty Giesen and
Niv Zuckerman lead the team with two wins apiece in singles play, and also lead the team in doubles wins as a pair going 2-1 on court one.
Should the Tigers emerge victorious it would be the first Pacific win in Davis since 2013.
Pacific and UCSB (4-0) last met in Los Angeles in January as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend where the team endured a 4-0 setback against the Gauchos. Sophomores
Vraj Patel and
Nico Rating did pull off a win together on doubles court three to give the Tigers a chance to clinch the point but could not prevail in a tiebreaker on court two.
Singles saw a handful of players locked in close matches but did not have the momentum to carry a comeback. The team last defeated UC Santa Barbara in 2016 but have not bested the Gauchos in Stockton since 2013. This match will be streamed on Track Tennis.
