GLENDORA, Calif. – Golden Coast Conference action begins this weekend for the No. 25 Pacific women's water polo program when it hits the road for a 5 p.m. game Friday against Azusa Pacific at the Citrus College Aquatic Center, followed by a 1 p.m. contest Sunday against No. 19 San Diego State at the Aztec Aquaplex.

The Tigers (6-5, 0-0 GCC) have won three straight contests, most recently with a 14-6 road win at Fresno Pacific. Pacific has not trailed in each of its last two games.

Three of Pacific's top-four leading scorers are freshmen.
Maria Ikonomou leads the way with 24 goals, followed by junior
Laia Marsinach Ortega with 22. Freshmen
Eleni Ikonomou and
Sophie Pethers have netted 15 goals apiece, while junior
Ella Cowan has registered 12 goals and a team-high 17 assists.

The Tigers have primarily used two goalkeepers with sophomore
Laurel Cooper seeing the bulk of the duties with 57 saves and 24 steals in over 213 minutes. Junior
Maja Lizy Dulic has registered 20 saves in 102 minutes.

Azusa Pacific (11-5, 0-1 GCC) dropped its conference opener 18-14 against Cal Baptist last weekend. The Tigers lead the all-time series 17-1 and won two meetings last year including 16-9 in the conference tournament.

San Diego State (8-7, 1-1 GCC) beat Cal Baptist 15-10 before falling to LMU 13-8 on the road. The Tigers won two meetings over the Aztecs last season including a 16-9 victory in the conference tournament.

Pacific's next home game is Saturday, March 7 when it hosts UC Davis at 5 p.m.
