Pacific Splits Final Neutral Site Games of Season

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Tigers offensive prowess carried over into game one of Sunday's action, defeating Manhattan 10-3 before San Jose State was able to quiet the offense in a 10-1 defeat, rounding out Pacific's weekend at Bob Janssen Field on the campus of Cal Poly for the Mustang Classic.

GAME 1
Pacific (4-11) answered two Jaspers (3-10) runs in the top of the first with three runs of their own that snowballed into a 7-1 run spanning the remainder of the contest. Junior Bailey Boetjer was at the center of the Tigers' success going two-for-three at the plate with four RBIs to increase her team lead to now 12 on the season. Within the WCC, that mark ranks tied for seventh and is one of 11 west coast conference student-athletes to have double digit RBIs.

The junior's four RBIs came in three different ways using a sacrifice fly, a single and a double – her fourth two-bagger of the young season. Behind her in the lineup, but just as effective, was senior Jordan Hayes who knocked in two RBIs on two hits.

The Tigers top of the order was seeing the ball extremely well in the morning game going a combined 7-for-11 with three-hit games from both redshirt senior Olivia Silvestre and junior Zaedi Tagalog.
The pair were on the base paths consistently all weekend notching seven and six hits respectively. A base knock in game two gave Silvestre a hit in nine consecutive contests.

Sophomore Peyton Clifford also notched her third multi-hit effort of the season, going two-for-two.

14 hits as a team were one shy of tying the most under Head Coach Sam Duran-Kukuk.

Sophomore Alexa Lewis posted a second straight dazzling outing with a final line of 6.2 innings pitched, one run (unearned), one walk and seven strikeouts. She became the last Tiger since Vanessa
Strong during the 2022 campaign to have multiple outings with seven or more strikeouts in a season and the first since Myka Sutherlin in 2020 to do so in consecutive outings. Lewis improved to 2-1 on the season.

GAME 2
While the bats were much quieter than the previous contest, the hits recorded did not come without note. Junior transfer Juliannah Jimenez recorded her first hit at the division one level, doubling to left field in the fifth inning. Silvestre also hit a double, her conference leading eighth of the season. In the national rankings, the redshirt senior entered the day ranked seventh in doubles, just two behind the national leader.

Sophomore Kaytee Dahlstrom was the pitcher of record in the game, lasting three innings and posted a final line of three innings pitched, six hits, four runs (two earned), one walk and six strikeouts.

Junior Ariel Nava navigated the remainder of the contest and gave up six runs, all earned, on eight hits, a walk and four strikeouts in four innings.

UP NEXT
The Tigers have one more contest before playing the home opener, rematching Sacramento State at Shea Stadium on Wednesday before hosting the two-day Libby Matson Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Pacific will play two games on each day, both against UC San Diego and Fresno State.
