STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program extended its winning streak to three games following a 4-3 victory over Utah Tech on Thursday evening from Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (3-2) escaped a ninth-inning jam as redshirt junior
Carson Revay collected the final dozen outs of the contest to hand the Trailblazers (5-1) their first loss of the season.
In his first career start and second appearance of the 2026 campaign, redshirt junior
Zach Todd (1-0) showcased a masterful performance on the mound, picking up the win and allowing just one unearned run in 5.0 innings with five strikeouts. Todd is up to 14 strikeouts on the year in ten innings of work.
Revay followed Todd's outing with 4.0 innings and earned his first save of the season. The save also marks his first career one as a Tiger.
Senior
Rylan Evans crushed his first home run of the year, providing what proved to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Evans, who hit his first home run since April 1, 2025, against San Jose State, also played sharp defense at third base on a frigid night in Stockton.
The Tigers opened the scoring immediately in the bottom of the first inning as senior
Blaine French and senior
Grant MacArthur put together run-producing at-bats in bases-loaded situations. French laced an RBI single for the first run of the contest, followed by MacArthur's RBI walk that gave Pacific an early 2-0 edge.
The Trailblazers responded in the top of the fifth inning, scoring on a passed ball to make the score, 2-1. The Tigers countered with another RBI hit from French to extend their lead to 3-1. French finished the night going 2-for-4 with his first multi-RBI performance of the season.
Utah Tech added in a run before the seventh inning stretch, closing the gap to a one-run lead for Pacific before Evans launched a two-out solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to cushion the home team's advantage to 4-2.
The Trailblazers threatened with a run in the top of the ninth, scoring once, but Revay closed the door shut by getting a flyout to center field to put a bow on the series-opening 4-3 victory. Friday's win marked the first time Pacific defeated Utah Tech as the two teams met for the first time ever on the diamond.
Pacific and Utah Tech will battle it out in game two of the three-game series tomorrow with 6 p.m. first pitch from Klein Family Field.
