FRESNO, Calif. – In a rematch from the season opener, the No. 22 Pacific women's water polo program heads to Fresno Pacific for a 6:30 p.m. game Wednesday at Sanger West High School.

The Tigers (5-5) won the first meeting this year 23-6 at home. Freshmen
Sophie Pethers and
Maria Ikonomou netted four goals apiece as Pacific improved to 21-0 against FPU (4-6) in the all-time series.

The Tigers are coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Bronco Invitational. It included back-to-back wins over CSU Monterey Bay and Pomona-Pitzer as junior
Alicia Petkov registered four goals in the team's last outing.

On the season, Ikonomou leads the offense with 23 goals, while junior
Laia Marsinach Ortega has tallied 20. Three of Pacific's top-four leading scorers are freshmen including
Eleni Ikonomou with 13 goals and Pethers with 13.

The Tigers have used three different goalkeepers including junior
Maja Lizy Dulic and sophomores
Laurel Cooper and
Lillian Ecklund. Cooper has seen the bulk of the duties with 54 saves in nine appearances.

FPU will play its second home game of the season after beating Whittier College 19-14 in its home opener. The Sunbirds have won four of their last five games overall.

Pacific's next home game is Saturday, March 7 when it hosts UC Davis at 5 p.m.
