STOCKTON, Calif. – Following a 9-6 defeat in game one of the doubleheader Saturday, the Pacific baseball program's bats roared to life in a 13-7 victory over Utah Valley in game two for their first win of the 2026 campaign at Klein Family Field.
GAME 1
The Tigers (1-2) could not overcome a six-run first inning by the Wolverines (2-1) to jump start the opening game of the doubleheader. Junior
Regan Carter (0-1) made his first start of the season, lasting 3.0 innings and allowing six runs on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts.
Graduate student
Brendan O'Sullivan provided some offensive jolt for the Tigers, reaching base four times with a pair of extra-base hits and RBI. Junior
Braeden Schnabel and redshirt sophomore
Robert Orr collected their first multi-hit performances of 2026, each scoring once as well.
Despite falling behind early, the Tigers chipped away at the Wolverines' lead with two runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but the latter of the visitor bullpen ultimately shut the door on a Pacific comeback attempt.
GAME 2
The Tigers erupted offensively in game two of the doubleheader, exploding for a season-high 13 runs and 18 hits.
Even though Pacific trailed early facing a 5-0 deficit, the home team responded with a key six-run fifth inning to propel them to the finish line for a 13-7 win.
Senior
Jake Tandy represented a catalyst of the Tigers offense, going 3-for-5 with a game-high four RBI and a run scored. Redshirt sophomore
JT Shank also manufactured a big day at the plate, adding three RBI to his name. Junior
Noah Canter made an immediate impact in his first start at catcher, slashing three hits with a pair of runs and an RBI.
On the pitching side, following the first start of the year by graduate student
Adan Perez, it was junior
Brady Wilson (1-0) who picked up the win in his debut as a Tiger. In his relief outing, Wilson pitched four solid innings while the Pacific offense went to work. Redshirt junior
Carson Revay put the finishing touches on the night with a clean ninth inning.
The Tigers aim for a split in the series tomorrow, wrapping up the four-game season-opening set against the Wolverines at 11:30 a.m. from Klein Family Field.
