DENVER – Kaya Rosa continued her historic season for the University of the Pacific women's soccer team, scoring her team-leading 10th marker of the year on Saturday in a 5-1 setback against Denver at Ciber Field from the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
Rosa found the back of the net in the 76th minute from dishes from
Sadie Fletcher and
Yohonna Bell, becoming just the fifth player in Pacific women's soccer history to record a double-digit goal season. The Tigers (1-15-2, 0-7-2 WCC) fell behind early, ultimately giving way to the Pioneers (4-9-3, 3-4-1 WCC) in the road finale of the regular season.
The native of Newark, California joins an exclusive group featuring Regina McGee, Natalie Dorr, Jamee Lucchesi and Wendy Woolgar. Rosa's 10 goals are the most by a Tiger in a single season since McGee set the program record with 16 in 2002.
The senior striker ranks third among West Coast Conference goal scorers, trailing Pepperdine's Julia Quinonez (13) and Santa Clara's Kennedy Schoennauer (12). Her 20 points also lead the Tigers this season.
Denver established an early advantage with three goals in the opening eight minutes before adding another before halftime. Pacific responded with six second-half shots, highlighted by Rosa's milestone goal.
Rosa finished with three shots, including two on goal, while Bell added two shots on target. Goalkeepers
Ava Wells and Lis van Herwijnen combined for five saves in the effort defensively.
The Tigers will wrap up the 2026 campaign against San Diego in the home finale at Knoles Field. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
