DAVIS, Calif. – The Pacific women's tennis team showed a lot of fight but fell 4-0 to UC Davis on Saturday morning at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
The Tigers (0-1) found themselves in an early hole after dropping the doubles point. This was despite the efforts of sophomore
Maggie Hoe and junior
Leyanne Hirota who cruised to a 6-1 win on court three.
Once in the singles portion, Hirota got off to another strong start, taking the first set before play was called halfway through set two. Similarly, Hoe was in front of her opponent with a first set win on court five.
Junior
Milena Maiorova on court one also found herself in a position to win, leading in the third set when play was called.
However, losses on court two, three and four gave the win to the Aggies (1-3).
Pacific returns home for its home opener tomorrow, Sunday the 25th, to face Fresno State. The match will be streamed on Track Tennis.
