CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Pacific volleyball program could not come up with the rallies necessary to cool a hot-swinging Oregon State team, falling in three-sets (12-25, 12-25, 20-25) to the Beavers on Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
The normally lethal Tigers (6-7, 0-2 WCC) serving game was out-aced for just the third time this season and the three total aces are the second fewest Pacific has ended a match with this season. Of those three aces, one came from sophomore
Olga Gergacz, marking the first of her collegiate career.
Graduate
Olivia Keller again led the Tigers offensively from the outside, managing seven kills. Right behind her was redshirt freshman
Mila Stojakovic and freshman
Mazi Smith with six and five kill respectively.
Sophomore
Alyson Cox played the role of primary setter for the Tigers and finished with a match high 23 assists, tying her career-high from earlier this season against Mercer.
Opposite the Tigers, Oregon State (8-4, 2-0 WCC) is just the second team this season to hit over .300 against Pacific (36-8-75, .373 pct.).
Coming up next for the program is the first of a seven-match homestand, welcoming LMU to the Alex G. Spanos Center for Pacific's home opener on Oct. 2. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
