SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer program saddles up and hits the road for the first time in 2025 to face Cal Poly Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Mustang Memorial Field at Spanos Stadium.
The Tigers (1-2) enters the match against the Mustangs (0-0-3) following their first victory of the Jeff Freeman era on Thursday with a 1-0 shutout win over Utah State at Knoles Field.
Pacific has a pair of goals scored in the 2025 campaign, one each by sophomore
Sierah McCallum and fifth year
Aniela Jensen. Jensen scored the game-winner in the 70th minute on a penalty kick, proving to be enough to down the Aggies.
While Jensen leads the Tigers with three points through three games, McCallum and graduate student
Taylor Curtis are tied for pacing Pacific in shots on goal with two apiece.
Graduate student
Juliana Alexander has been the backbone in goal for the Tigers, sporting a 1.67 goals against average through three starts. Alexander recorded her second career shutout in the 1-0 victory over Utah State, making five saves in that effort for 15 saves on the year.
Sophomore
Gianna Gagliano has played the most minutes on the pitch, collecting 258 minutes through three games. Among the newcomers, freshman
Janelli Villagran has spent the most time playing with 214 minutes to her name.
Under the guidance of first-year head coach Bernardo Silva, Cal Poly is set to host its second opponent at home this season after drawing in three straight matches to begin the year. The Mustangs started at San Diego with a 3-3 draw, followed by a 2-2 draw in their home opener against BYU and a 0-0 road draw at Fresno State.
One Mustang to keep an eye on is Jessie Halladay, who was named to the 11-player All-Big West preseason coaches' team. Halladay carries the torch offensively with two goals and five points for Cal Poly, who was picked to finish sixth in the Big West preseason coaches' poll.
Alyssa Szarlacki has started all three contests in goal for the Mustangs, conceding five goals on 45 shots faced.
Cal Poly and Pacific go head-to-head for the 24th all-time meeting between the two programs. Facing the Mustangs for a third straight season, the Tigers seek their first victory at Cal Poly since Oct. 15, 2010, when the Tigers won 1-0.
The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with a 1 p.m. kick-off set.
