Women’s Soccer Hosts Utah State Thursday

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer program welcomes Utah State to wrap-up its season-opening, three-game homestand Thursday at 7 p.m. at Knoles Field.

The Tigers (0-2) complete the home-and-home match-up from a season ago against the Aggies (1-0-0), eyeing their first victory in the Jeff Freeman era.
Last time out, Pacific dropped a closely contested 2-1 decision in the second game of the season to UC Davis last Sunday. Sophomore Sierah McCallum scored the Tigers' first goal of the 2025 season on a brilliant feed from fifth year Aniela Jensen to level up the score at 1-1 before halftime. McCallum, who represents the Pacific's top returning scorer from 2024, leads the Tigers with a goal on five shot attempts (two shots on goal).

Playing at least 75 minutes in each of the first pair of contests this year, Jensen collected her first assist since November 4, 2023, when she tallied five points that day against San Francisco.

Defensively, graduate student Juliana Alexander has made both starts in goal through two contests. The native of Bakersfield, California holds a 2.50 goals against average with ten saves on the year. In her career total, Alexander has 47 saves to her name along with a pair of shutouts in nine starts and ten games played.

Utah State kicked off its 2025 season with a win in the season opener, earning a 1-0 shutout victory on the road over Washington State. A goal from Austin Miller in the 77th minute proved to be the difference. The Aggies posted a 13-11 shots advantage in the match.

The Aggies received four votes in the latest United States Coaches Top 25 poll on Tuesday. No West Coast Conference schools were in the Top 25.

Thursday's contest will be the 11th all-time meeting between Utah State and Pacific. The Tigers lead the all-time series 5-4-1. When the two programs met last season in Logan, USU came out on top with a 9-3 victory, recording the second-most goals in a game in program history. In that contest, McCallum was one of the three goal scorers for Pacific while senior Allie Jones collected an assist on the Tigers' first goal of the match.

The last time the two teams met in Stockton was on Oct. 3, 2004, when the contest was completed in a 0-0 tie after double overtime. Pacific is 3-0-1 all-time against Utah State at home.

The final match of the three-game homestand will be streamed on ESPN+ with Dennis Ackerman on the call. There is free admission to watch the contest at Knoles Field.
