STOCKTON, Calif. – Despite a season-high attendance at Klein Family Field, the Pacific baseball program dropped its midweek contest to California by a 13-3 margin in seven innings on Tuesday night.
The Tigers (18-31) strung together some early offense to take a lead, but the Golden Bears (19-27) piled on the runs to ultimately take the Tigers' second-ever contest against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent at home.
Junior
Jake Tandy collected a multi-hit performance in his effort at the plate. Fifth year
John-Howard Bobo and senior
Drake Bicknell extended their hitting streaks.
Redshirt senior
Josh Souza made the start for Pacific, going 2.0 innings.
The scoring parade started with a two-run bottom of the first with key hits from Bobo and Tandy. The Bears tacked on two to tie the game before Pacific retook the lead, 3-2, after two frames. Cal proceeded to score the rest of the runs of the contest, scoring four in the third and five in the fourth to eventually take the Tuesday tilt by a 13-3 score.
Pacific will resume West Coast Conference play, taking on Pepperdine during the home series finale this weekend. Fireworks Night on Friday at 6 p.m. PDT, followed by Faith Night on Saturday at 6 p.m. PDT and Senior Day on Sunday at 1 p.m. PDT.
