STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program could not overcome a fourth inning rally by the visitors, ultimately falling to Saint Mary's by a 9-3 margin Saturday night at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (18-29, 6-11 WCC) battled all night, but a five-run fourth inning frame by the Gaels (25-20, 9-8 WCC) led them to taking game two of three-game series.
Graduate student
Kordell Brown, graduate student
Brian McClellin and redshirt senior
JT Waldon recorded multi-hit performances, sparking the offense for the Tigers throughout the night. Brown and fifth year
John-Howard Bobo produced run-scoring hits in the effort.
Senior
Adan Perez made his team-leading 11th start of the season, stretching out for 4.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Senior
Jakob Guardado came on in relief, going 4.0 innings and allowing just one earned run with four strikeouts.
After a 1-1 tie after three innings, the Gaels took advantage of a five-run fourth inning and never looked back, taking the second consecutive game in the series.
Pacific and Saint Mary's lock horns in game three of the series tomorrow with a first pitch slated for 1 p.m. PDT.
