STOCKTON, Calif. – Averaging 13.4 points per game this past season at Long Beach State, TJ Wainwright will join the Pacific men's basketball program for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Wainwright, from Los Angeles, recorded 22 double-figure scoring games in 2024-25 for The Beach, which included six games of 20 points or more. He registered a season-high 31 points against Cal State Fullerton and notched 27 against Cal State Northridge and 26 at Pepperdine.
Wainwright, a 6-3, 195-pound guard, shot a team-high .407 from three-point range on 283 attempts. He was also a .841 free throw shooter.
"TJ is a fiery competitor who cares about perfecting his craft. He is an elite shooter, an underrated playmaker and brings a lot of energy and leadership to our program. TJ is a young man who's constantly trying to improve his game and attacks life the right way. We are excited to have him become a part of the program," head coach
Dave Smart said.
Wainwright transferred to LBSU after spending the previous two seasons at Robert Morris. He averaged 10.0 points per outing as a sophomore in 2023-24 with a season-high of 30 points against Detroit Mercy.
In high school, he attended Monteverde Academy where he won the prep national championship after guiding the team to a 30-5 record. He was named Second-Team All-State and First-Team All-Conference after scoring 15.7 points per game and shooting 43 percent from long range.
Wainwright will be pursuing a degree in Sport Management & Analytics at Pacific.
