STOCKTON, Calif. – On a ceremonious day where the Pacific baseball program honored 16 of its senior players in a pregame celebration, the Tigers dropped a spirited series finale by a 9-5 margin on Sunday afternoon at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (20-32, 8-13 WCC) put up a valiant effort with their final home game of 2025, but the Waves (12-39, 7-14 WCC) rallied late to pull away with the matinee on Senior Day.
Fifth year
John-Howard Bobo was a revelation at the plate and in center field with his defense, collecting a career-high four hits and reached base five times, including his second home run of the season in the bottom of the third inning.
Senior
Jakob Guardado earned the start for his eighth of the year, going 3.2 innings and allowing two runs with three strikeouts.
Pepperdine jumped out to an early 1-0 lead before Bobo hit a 393 foot towering shot to left field to even up the score. The Waves responded with a run in the top of the fourth to go up, 2-1.
A three-run fifth inning by Pacific gave the home team a two-run lead with a 4-2 margin. The Waves proceeded to score seven straight to go up 9-2. The Tigers attempted a comeback, but the heroics fell short with the tying runner at plate on Senior Day.
With the season-long eight-game home stand complete, the Tigers look ahead to next week where the team begins a four-game road trip to wrap up the regular season, starting at Fresno State on Tuesday night.
