No. 23 Women’s Water Polo Looks to Keep Rolling against Azusa Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – Having won its first two of a four-game homestand, the No. 23 Pacific women's water polo program will host Azusa Pacific in a Golden Coast Conference match Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
 
Pacific (11-8, 4-1 GCC), is coming off wins over Fresno Pacific 13-5 and No. 20 San Diego State 14-12. The Tigers are 3-1 at home this season and have won three consecutive GCC games. They are one game out of first-place behind LMU.
 
Junior Dora Alaksza continues to climb the Pacific record book as she's up to 225 goals scored which ranks fourth all-time. She's chasing Molly Smith's mark of 286 goals from 1997-00 and is six away from moving up to third as Dara Tawarahara scored 231 from 2008-11.
 
Alaksza has netted 77 goals this year which is second in the GCC and she's first in goals per game with 4.1. She's scored at least one goal in every game.
 
Senior Hila Futorian is second in the team in scoring with 34 goals, while sophomore Ella Cowan is Pacific's assist leader with 40. Sophomore goalkeeper Maja Lizy Dulic has made 163 saves and is coming off career-highs of six steals and there assists in the win over SDSU.
 
Azusa Pacific (14-12, 2-3 GCC) has conference wins over Concordia 13-8 and Santa Clara 18-10. Junior Jessie Nelson leads the squad with 58 goals.
 
The Tigers are 15-1 all-time against Azusa Pacific and 7-0 at home.
 
Pacific will conclude the regular season Friday, April 18 when it hosts Fresno State at 7 p.m. on Senior Night at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
