STOCKTON, Calif. – The last two opportunities to see the 2025 Pacific men's tennis team at home comes Thursday against Cal Poly at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. against West Coast Conference foe Santa Clara, both to be played at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
Looking at the standings, Pacific (12-7, 4-1 WCC) sits in second place, just one game behind San Diego for what would be the program's first West Coast Conference regular season title.
Sunday's opponent in Santa Clara (11-8, 2-2 WCC) is 1.5 games back of the Tigers with a match against Saint Mary's on Saturday before the Broncos reach Stockton. A win for Pacific would be the team's first over Santa Clara since the 2018 season and first home win since the 2015 season. Graduate
Ran Amar is the only returning Tiger that scored a point when these teams last met at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center in 2023. Coupled with the matches in 2022/2024 and Amar has never lost a singles match to Santa Clara.
In addition to Amar's point in last season's road match, junior
Tiago Silva scored a point in singles. Silva, alongside his doubles partner in freshman
Vraj Patel, and senior
Justas Trainauskas are the reigning WCC doubles team and singles players of the week.
Sunday will also be the team's senior day where both Amar and Trainauskas will be honored for their contributions to the program.
Thursday's match against Cal Poly (7-11) provides the first opportunity for the first consecutive wins in the series since triumphing over the Mustangers in 2013 and 2014.
Silva and Trainauskas, along with junior
Terence Das, are the returning point scorers from last season where the team had to overcome an early deficit from the doubles portion.
Both matches will be streamed on Track Tennis.
