MTEN Preview at Pepperdine/San Diego 2025

Men’s Tennis Prepares for Pair of Top-25 Showdowns

MALIBU, Calif. – Currently sitting atop the West Coast Conference standings, the Pacific men's tennis program faces the two remaining unbeaten teams in the conference in No. 20 Pepperdine on Friday at 2 p.m. in Malibu, Calif. before traveling to face No. 7 San Diego on Sunday at noon.

A win for the Tigers (11-6, 3-0 WCC) would be the program's first on Pepperdine's (12-6, 2-0) home court in team history. Juniors Terence Das and Tiago Silva are the only returning point scorers from last seasons matchups with both winning their singles matches on courts three and four in three sets.

Graduate Ran Amar was in position to score a point for Pacific when play was halted during the team's last trip to Malibu.

This season's edition of Pacific men's tennis will be leaning on doubles duos of Amar/sophomore Christof Schaertlin Coffey on court one who recently moved up to 36th nationally and Silva/freshman Vraj Patel on court three who are 2-0 playing together.

Sunday sees the Tigers go for another program first road win when they face San Diego. Last season Pacific upended the Toreros at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center behind wins from Das and Silva – including the match deciding tiebreaker from Silva on court three.

This season, Silva's conference performances on singles court one has been dominating as the junior has not allowed any opponent to win more than three games in any of the six sets he's played.

Schaertlin Coffey's singles outings also have him a player to watch on court six as he is 3-0 to start conference play.
