STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's basketball program announced its first signee since the conclusion of the 2024-25 season with the lettering of Carlsheon Young to the squad.
 
Young, from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, averaged 18.6 points and 5.5 rebounds at Midwest City and led the Bombers to their fifth state title. He scored 22 points in the 5A State Championship game and helped the school attain its first state championship since 2007.
 
Young, a 6-4, 195-pound guard, earned a spot on The Oklahoman's Super 5 First-Team and Big All-City Player of the Year honors. He also was named to the All-State First-Team, District MVP, State Championship Tournament MVP and was a McDonald's All-America nominee.
 
"We're thrilled to have a talented freshman like Carlsheon join our program. He will make an immediate impact on both sides of the ball with the potential to be really special. His skillset translates well from the high school to the university game," said head coach Dave Smart.
 
According to 247sports.com, Young turned down an offer from Oklahoma State to come to Pacific and also garnered interest from Kansas, TCU, Baylor, Cal and Arizona State.
 
Young will be pursuing a degree in Sport Management & Analytics at Pacific.
