Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – In the regular season finale, Pacific took care of business 4-1 over Portland at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center on Thursday morning, cementing a 5-2 West Coast Conference record.
Freshman
Jonty Giesen came up with two clutch performances, first clinching the doubles point for Pacific (14-8, 5-2 WCC) with senior
Justas Trainauskas, and then clinching the match in singles with a straight set triumph on court five. The win was the first of conference play for the freshman and his fifth of the season.
Trainauskas mirrored his doubles partner's dominance in the match, also winning his singles match in straight sets. He moves to 4-1 in the WCC.
Pacific's third two-point scorer of the match, junior
Tiago Silva started his match off by blanking his doubles opponents with freshman
Vraj Patel before grinding out a three-set win on singles court one. Playing solely on court one this season, the team's preseason all-WCC team selection went 5-1 in conference play.
Coming up next for Pacific is the West Coast Conference tournament from April 24-26 in San Diego.
