Taylor Book Joins Freeman’s Staff as Assistant Coach

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer program welcomes Taylor Book as an assistant coach, as announced by head coach Jeff Freeman.

Book brings a unique experience to Pacific with her background as a goalkeeper and leader at UNLV, a social media marketer and coordinator with Vegas Valley Baseball and goalkeeper coach with Las Vegas Heat Surf.

"I'm thrilled to join the coaching staff at the University of the Pacific and be part of a program with such passion and potential. The culture and people at Pacific make it a special place, and I look forward to working with these talented student-athletes and contributing to the team's growth on and off the field."

With UNLV, Book served with a variety of roles, including team captain for a year and as a leadership council member for two years. Book fostered a collaborative and high-performance team culture through regular meetings with coaching staff and teammates.

"Taylor immediately stuck out as someone I needed to get here to Pacific!" Freeman said. "I truly believe Taylor is going to be a rising star in our profession. She is passionate about everything she does, has great leadership skills, is organized, and is as excited as I am about the future of Pacific Soccer!  Taylor will be more than a goalkeeper coach for us, and I can't wait to see all the areas in which she will impact our program!"

At UNLV, Book also acted as a liaison between players and coaching staff, mentoring teammates and facilitating consistent communication.

As a goalkeeper coach with the Heat Surf, Book specialized in goalkeeper training focusing on technique, positioning, and decision-making while utilizing video analysis to assess game performance and offer tactical feedback.

Book, a native of Henderson, Nevada, graduated from UNLV with her bachelor's in hospitality management in December 2023.

Book accompanies assistant coach Joel Bancroft to complete Freeman's staff.
