STOCKTON, Calif. – Following nearly a full week off the court, Pacific men's tennis travels to Sacramento State on Saturday at noon before returning to the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center to welcome Saint Mary's for the start of West Coast Conference play on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Tigers (7-6) have traditionally excelled against the Hornets (9-7), owning a 9-3 record since 2006 and edged out SSU 4-3 in last season's matchup. Junior
Terence Das played a huge role for the
Tigers in that win, earning a point in both singles and doubles for his club. Das was paired with junior
Tiago Silva in last year's triumph, and paired with Silva again this season, have been dominant of late – winning seven of their last eight doubles matches together.
Graduate
Ran Amar also earned a point in the singles portion to aid Pacific.
Sunday's WCC home opener against the Gaels (3-11) affords the Tigers the opportunity to notch their first home win over Saint Mary's since 2021. Last season's match with the Gaels was a clean sweep for Pacific, with junior
Tiago Silva leading the way with a point scored in both singles and doubles. He was joined in the doubles portion by his partner, sophomore
Christof Schaertlin Coffey, senior Jusas Trainauskas, graduate
Ran Amar, and junior
Terence Das.
Sunday's home match will feature a free pizza giveaway promotion for those able to attend, but will be streamed on Track Tennis for those unable to support in person.
