SEATTLE, Wash. – The Pacific baseball program dropped the rubber match to Seattle, 7-2, on Sunday afternoon at Bannerwood Park.
The Tigers (7-5) got a late home run by redshirt sophomore
Andrew Sloan, but the pitching by the Redhawks (2-9) pushed them to the result in the end.
Sloan's second home run of the season and third as a Tiger was a highlight for Pacific's offense. Junior
Rylan Evans collected two hits in the effort as well. Senior
DJ Scott scored a run and stole home, marking the first time a Tiger stole home since March 2, 2014.
In his third start of the season,
Jakob Guardado (1-1) went 5.0 innings, allowing three runs.
Seattle's Isaac Hallam earned a quality start with six innings of one-run ball. Tyler Peterson reached base five times as part of the Redhawks offense on the day.
Pacific returns home to face CSU Bakersfield on Tuesday in a midweek matchup at Klein Family Field at 5:05 pm.
