STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific baseball program's bats went cold in a 6-0 loss against Cal State Bakersfield Tuesday at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (7-6) drop their third midweek match-up of the season, falling behind a one-hit gem from Jack Leary of the Roadrunners (4-9).
Freshman
Justin Iglesias was sharp in his Tigers' debut as a starter, going scoreless 3.0 innings with a strikeout. Senior
Jarryd Wood (0-1) was handed the loss.
Leary (1-2) threw 7.1 innings with seven strikeouts. Evan Cloyd, who was 2-for-2, hit a three-run home run in the top of the eighth that ultimately put the pin on the contest that started as a pitching duel.
The Tigers now begin a home-and-home series with Sacramento State. Friday's and Sunday's games will be at 2 p.m. at John Smith Field. Pacific will host the middle game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Klein Family Field.
