STOCKTON, Calif. – In the regular season finale, the Pacific men's basketball program fell 97-66 to Santa Clara on Saturday at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Before the game, the Tigers (9-23, 4-14 WCC) honored
Petar Krivokapic who transferred to Pacific after playing the previous four years at FIU. Krivokapic is averaging 7.0 points per outing for the Tigers and shot .372 from long range in conference play.
With six assists in the contest, junior
Lamar Washington broke the school's single season record and is up to 183. He topped Leonard Armato's mark of 178 set in 1973-74.
Washington was not only a distributor Saturday but also netted a team-high 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was 8-of-15 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
Senior
Elijah Fisher registered 14 points and eight rebounds in 40 minutes. Senior
Elias Ralph tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and a pair of blocks.
Santa Clara (20-11, 12-6 WCC) was guided by Christoph Tilly's 21 points and 12 rebounds.
The Tigers will now turn their attention to the West Coast Conference Tournament next week. The league will announce the bracket Sunday morning.
NOTES
- Pacific is now 809-462 all-time at home and 346-229 in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
- The Tigers surpassed their conference win total by four games from last year. They have also surpassed their overall win total by three games.
- Washington entered the game ranked 13th in the nation in total assists and 31st in assists per game. He netted his 22nd double-figure scoring game of the year and logged 32:27 minutes.
- Fisher started the day ranked 13th in the country in free throw attempts and 18th in free throws made. He was 6-of-7 from the line in the game. It was the seventh time this season he played 40 minutes. Fisher turned in his 45th career double-digit scoring performance and 29th this year.
- Ralph notched his 87th career double-figure scoring outing and 27th this season. He was 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Ralph entered the game ranked top-five in the WCC in blocks (1.6 bpg) and swatted a pair.
