SEATTLE, Wash. – A dominant outing by senior
Adan Perez and a triplet of home runs propelled the Pacific baseball program to a 6-1 victory over Seattle on Saturday afternoon at Bannerwood Park.
The Tigers (7-4) earned their first road victory of the season, providing plenty of run support for Perez against the Redhawks (1-9).
Graduate student
Kordell Brown, sophomore
Braeden Schnabel and junior
Rylan Evans hit the Tigers' home runs in the effort. For Schnabel, that was his second home run in as many games. Brown scored three times from the lead-off spot, joining senior
DJ Scott, junior
Jake Tandy and Schnabel in multi-hit performances.
Perez (3-0) recorded his first quality start of the season, going shutout 6.0 innings while striking out three batters. Perez turned the ball over to senior
Ethan Shaver, who picked up a three-inning save.
Pacific scored one in the top of the first on a Scott RBI single and two more on Schnabel and Evans' home runs in the top of the second.
The Tigers continued to add on with one in the top of the fourth and fifth innings each for a 5-0 advantage. A solo home run by Brown – his second of the year – put the cherry on top of a 6-1 victory for Pacific.
The Tigers and Redhawks will lock horns in a rubber match tomorrow with a noon first pitch.
