STANFORD, Calif. – Junior
Olivia Silvestre led off her second straight game with a home run but the Pacific softball program was unable to capitalize on the early lead in a 9-3 defeat to Seattle to round out the weekend at the Stanford Invitational at Stanford Stadium.
Silvestre's homer punctuated a weekend in which the outfielder went 5-for-9 with three home runs and four RBIs. Freshman
Jayleen Scott had a collegiate debut to remember, knocking in two runs in the top of the fifth via a 2-run RBI triple.
Sophomore
Justice Alcaraz drew her first start of the season, lasting 1.1 innings giving up two runs, only one of which was earned, before turning the reigns over to senior
Desiree Smith for the remainder of the game. Alcaraz was tagged with the loss and dropped to 0-1.
Coming up next for Pacific is a trip to Northridge, California to take part in the CSUN Matador Classic. The Tigers will play five games beginning on Friday with a doubleheader against CSUN before a single game Saturday against Seattle and then two games Sunday against both CSUN and Seattle.
All of next weekend's games will be played at the Matador Diamond.
