Men’s Basketball Hosts San Diego Thursday, Gonzaga Saturday at Alex G. Spanos Center

STOCKTON, Calif. – Two home games are on tap for the Pacific men's basketball program this week as it hosts San Diego at 7 p.m. Thursday and Gonzaga at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
 
Saturday's game against Gonzaga (16-7, 7-3 WCC) will be a black out and fans are encouraged to wear black. The Tigers (7-18, 2-9 WCC) will be going for their first win over the Bulldogs since rejoining the West Coast Conference in 2013-14.
 
Though, Pacific first has its sights set on San Diego (4-20, 1-10 WCC). It will be a revenge game for the Tigers after dropping the first meeting between the two teams on the road 75-65 on Dec. 30. Junior Elijah Fisher led the Tigers in that outing with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Tigers are going for their second straight home win after completing the season sweep over Washington State. In that last game, sophomore Jazz Gardner hit a go-ahead bucket with 5.1 seconds left in a 70-68 victory at home.
 
On the season, Pacific has been led by the Canadian duo of Ralph and junior Elijah Fisher, who both score over 16 points per game. In conference, Fisher leads the way with 16.5 points per outing and is shooting .528 from the field.
 
Fisher ranks 11th in the nation in free throw attempts with 164 and 14th in free throws made with 122. Fisher has scored in double-figures in 24 of 25 games on the year. He's played 40 minutes four times.
 
Ralph is the team's leading rebounder with 7.4 per game and has tallied eight double-doubles, which ranks 28th in the country. Ralph ranks top-five in the WCC in offensive rebounding (2.6 orpg), field goal percentage (.489) and blocks (1.2 bpg).
 
Junior Lamar Washington ranks seventh in the nation in total assists (151) and 21st in assists per game (6.0). He also scores in double-figures with 12.4 points per game.
 
San Diego has a balanced scoring attack and ranks top-40 in the country in bench points per game with 27.96. The Toreros have been without Kjay Bradley who averages 14.5 points per game but has missed the last four contests. Santiago Trouet records 9.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per outing.
 
Gonzaga leads the nation in both assists (19.7 apg) and assist:turnover ratio (2.0). The Bulldogs are also second in the country in scoring (88.2 ppg), fifth in field goal percentage (.500) and sixth in free throw percentage (.795). Ryan Nembhard leads the nation in assists (10.0 apg) and scores 11.0 points per game. Graham Ike averages team-highs of 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per outing.

NOTES
- The Tigers are 16-13 all-time against San Diego and 9-4 at home.
 
- Pacific's only win over Gonzaga came on Dec. 23, 1976.
 
- Pacific has already surpassed both its season and conference win totals from last year.
 
- The Tigers are 808-459 all-time at home and 345-226 in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
 
- In all seven of Pacific's wins this year, the team has outscored the opposition in the paint.
 
- Twice this year Ralph and Washington posted double-doubles in the same game. The first was in an 80-67 win over San Jose State where Ralph tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Washington recorded 14 points and 10 assists. Most recently, Ralph notched 26 points and 11 rebounds at Portland and Washington registered 14 points and 12 assists. Prior to this year, the Tigers had not garnered two double-doubles in the same game since Jan. 12, 2017.
