No. 20 Pacific to Play Four Neutral Matches in Santa Clara this Weekend

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In its final tune-up matches before conference play, the No. 20 Pacific women's water polo program will square off with No. 23 Marist, No. 19 San Jose State, No. 25 Brown and CSU Monterey Bay over the weekend at the Sullivan Aquatic Center.
 
The Tigers (5-2) will face Marist (3-4) at 10:15 a.m. and San Jose State (6-6) at 3:15 p.m. Saturday. Pacific take on Brown (3-5) at 10:15 a.m. and CSU Monterey Bay (1-6) at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
 
Pacific has been led by junior Dora Alaksza who has tallied a team-high 28 goals in seven games. She's recorded at least two goals in every game including a season-high six against No. 4 Cal.
 
Senior Hila Futorian is second on the team in scoring with 19 goals in five games. Sophomore Alicia Petkov has registered 11 goals on the year.
 
The Tigers will go for the season sweep over Marist after winning the first meeting 15-10 in Providence, Rhode Island. Futorian scored five goals to lead the Tigers, while Alaksza netted a hat trick. Pacific has won six of the last seven matches against Marist dating back to 2016.
 
Pacific has won three straight and five of the last six against San Jose State. Last season, the Tigers won 8-7 as Alaksza scored the game-winner with seven seconds left.
 
The Tigers will go for the season sweep over Brown after winning the first meeting 11-10 on the road. Sophomore Anna Crum scored the game-winner on Pacific's final possession in the victory. The Tigers are looking for their third straight win over Brown dating back to last season.
 
Pacific is 12-5 all-time against CSU Monterey Bay and has won five in a row. The Tigers won 17-6 last season.
 
The Tigers will open Golden Coast Conference play at home on Friday, Feb. 21 in a 6 p.m. match against Concordia University Irvine at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center. It will also be Pacific's home opener.
