Women’s Basketball Buries Simpson Behind School Record 18 Three-Pointers

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball program connected on 18-of-42 three-point looks as the team tied for the second largest margin of victory in program history in Friday morning's 116-49 victory over Simpson at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Today's shooting performance was only the second time in Pacific (5-5) history the team had reached 15 three-pointers in a game (last done Feb. 13, 2013 vs. CSUN), and powering the Tigers to the school record were seven student-athletes who hit from deep, seven of whom connected multiple times.

Leading that onslaught was junior Nyah Lowery and senior Luisa Anderegg – both of whom shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and set personal bests. Lowery's was a career high that coincided with a career-high 18 points (7-10 FG, 4-5 3pt) while Anderegg's was a division one best in both shooting and scoring (20 points, 5-10 FG, 4-5 3pt, 6-7 FT), having once scored 22 points and hit five three-pointers for Midland College. The pair led all players in scoring.

Right behind them was senior Mali Ennis off the bench who nearly tripled her previous career-high in scoring, going for 11 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3pt), all in the fourth quarter (previous career high of four points vs. Milwaukee).

Sophomore Winner Bartholomew turned in another strong game with a final line of 16 points (6-8 FG), six rebounds and a steal – seven points of which came in the first 3:21 of the contest.

Freshman Sophia Mindermann continued to light it up from beyond the arc, adding three more triples and 13 more points to her season ledger. If she hits her current projection of 198 points this season, she will be the fourth highest scoring true freshman of the Head Coach Bradley Davis era – behind only Anaya James, Elizabeth Elliott, and Brooklyn McDavid, all of whom currently rank in Pacific's top-ten career scoring list.

Pacific flashed an unselfish streak during the contest by giving out 35 assists, the second most in program history and the first time topping 30 since 2022 (31 vs. Academy of Art) – 11 out of 14 players that played in the game recorded at least one assist with both senior Sydney Ward and sophomore Daria Nestorov setting new personal bests at seven and eight respectively. Senior Hannah Burg's seven assists is a division one best and one shy of tying her best (eight vs. Sioux Falls).

Ward flirted with Pacific's first triple-double since that Academy of Art matchup by going for eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists – she also added two blocks and a steal.

As a team, the Tigers outrebounded Simpson (5-4) by a 62-23 margin and would have outrebounded the Redhawks on offensive boards alone (27).

The 67-point win is the first time Pacific has defeated an opponent by more than 65-points since 1984 when the team defeated Sonoma State also by 67 points – the current school record is 92 points over Stanislaus State in 1978.

The team closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Sunday when No. 22 Washington comes to Stockton for the first time since 1983. Pacific won that match 75-62 and will be looking for its first win over a ranked opponent since 2003 over UC Santa Barbara. Tipoff from the Alex G. Spanos Center is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
