Tigers Drop Road Contest at No. 10 BYU

PROVO, Utah – The Pacific men's basketball program was topped 93-57 by No. 10 BYU on Tuesday at the Marriott Center.

After starting the game slow, the Tigers (8-4) cut a 21-point halftime deficit down to 47-38 at the 14:29 mark after a 12-0 run, and still trailed 49-40 with 14:00 to go. Though, the Cougars (10-1) answered with an 18-0 spurt to pull away near the midway point.

A career night came from junior Kajus Kublickas with his best performance of 14 points. He was 5-of-6 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range.

Senior Elias Ralph reached double-figures with 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Senior Isaac Jack netted eight points.

BYU garnered a trio of 20-plus scorers including Richie Sanders with 24 points, AJ Dybantsa with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Robert Wright III with 22 points.

The shots weren't falling for the Tigers in the first half as they went 0-for-11 from long range. Kublickas snapped the streak with a three with 18:42 remaining in the second half.

Down 47-26, Kublickas hit back-to-back threes to spark Pacific's 12-0 run. It included field goals by Ralph and senior Justin Rochelin, and a lay-in by Jack trimmed it to 47-38 with 14:29 left.

Pacific returns home Sunday for its non-conference finale at 4 p.m. against Nicholls at the Alex G. Spanos Center. The Tigers are 4-0 at home this year.
