Bradley Davis Claims All-Time Wins Record as Pacific Beats UC San Diego

STOCKTON, Calif. – Head Coach Bradley Davis won his 141st game leading the Pacific Women's basketball team, claiming the title of winningest coach in program history after defeating UC San Diego 69-66 on Monday night at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Davis, who began his 11th campaign tonight, passed Melissa Taketa (1988-98) for the honor.

Behind the historic result was a barrage of three-pointers from the Tigers (1-0), who shot 12-for-28 from beyond the arc. The onslaught of triples was Pacific's first time hitting ten-plus threes in a game since 2023 at Saint Mary's and tied for the most in a home game against a division one opponent in Davis' tenure (last done in 2016 versus CSU Bakersfield).

Leading that charge was sophomore Daria Nestorov, who connected on four of six attempts and led Pacific in scoring with 15 points. Right behind Nestorov was redshirt sophomore Stella Szabo and senior Sydney Ward with two three-pointers of their own, the former of whom set a new career-best and the latter tied her career high. Junior Nyah Lowery also connected twice, and her performance has been a predictor of Tigers successes as the team is 9-2 when she hits two or more threes in her career.

UC San Diego (0-1) by contrast only shot 4-for-25 from deep.

Beyond Pacific's prowess shooting the ball was a decided Tigers advantage on the boards – outrebounding the Tritons 46-29. Junior Marina Radocaj grabbed a game-high ten rebounds to set a new personal best, as did Nestorov with six boards.

Sophomore Winner Bartholomew, making her debut wearing the orange and black, finished with nine rebounds and her own career-high performance.

Ward was also active on the glass with six boards to wrap up her 13-point, six-rebound, and two-block night.

Freshman Liv Yergensen and Sophia Mindermann featured heavily in the Pacific rotation in their collegiate debuts, with the former flashing ability as a scorer with eight points on an efficient 4-for-7 performance while the latter was an effective facilitator leading the team with four assists.

Pacific remains on its home court in the next contest, welcoming Cal Baptist to Stockton for the first matchup between the two schools in series history and the first meeting with the WAC conference since 2010.

Tip from the Alex G. Spanos Center is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
