WBB Preview vs. Cal State Fullerton 2025

Pacific Readies for Action Against Cal State Fullerton

STOCKTON, Calif. – After a grueling week playing against power four and group of five competition, the Pacific women's basketball team returns to the mid-major ranks when the team hosts Cal State Fullerton on Sunday for the final game before the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Dating back to the shared time in the Big West Conference, Pacific (1-3) has enjoyed a lot of success against Cal State Fullerton (1-3), both traditionally and recently. The Tigers emerged victorious in the final five meetings as conference foes and have taken three of four meetings since. In the broader context of the series, Pacific owns a 41-24 advantage due in large part to a 24-6 record in Stockton against the Titans.

In the program's history, CSUF is Pacific's third most common opponent with this being the 66th meeting and one of just four schools the team has played 60 or more times.

Senior Sydney Ward continues to close in on Pacific's all-time top ten in blocks, entering the weekend with 70 career blocks. Her next block would tie her for tenth all-time and a second would give her sole possession of tenth. Ward's presence in the middle of the paint is not something the Tigers have seen in some time as the last entrant to that list was Valerie Higgins – who graduated in 2021.

On the offensive end of the court, freshman Liv Yergensen leads a unit off the bench that gives Pacific more depth than in year's past. The freshman is coming off back-to-back double-digit performances and is third on the team averaging 8.8 points per game off a bench averaging 21.5 points per game.

In the last time out, Pacific's bench outscored the starters 33-24 behind a barrage of three-pointers from freshman Sophia Mindermann (4-for-9 shooting) and a flurry of free throws from Yergensen (6-for-7 from the stripe).

Tipoff from the Alex G. Spanos Center is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
