SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer program wraps up its 2025 campaign on the road, facing Santa Clara in the West Coast Conference finale at 7 p.m. on Saturday from Buck Shaw Field at Stevens Stadium.
The Tigers (4-13, 1-7 WCC) look to end the season on a high note against the Broncos (5-5-7, 2-3-3 WCC) after going 1-1-0 last week against Air Force and Oregon State.
Last time out, sophomore
Ezekiel Padilla scored a goal for his second of the year, tying his career-best total. Padilla also has an assist and leads the Tigers with 29 shot attempts – 14 of which have come on target.
Senior and captain
Luca Baltzer represents one of eight Tigers playing for the final time on the pitch in their college careers. Baltzer, a WCC preseason team member, has been a catalyst for the Pacific offense all year, pacing his team with three goals, four assists and ten points.
Defensively, junior
Mateus Ruiz-Hurst has played the most minutes defending the goal with over 1,150 accumulated. The native of San Jose, California owns a 2.26 goals against average with 40 saves to his name, which ranks seventh among WCC goalkeepers.
Santa Clara enters its Senior Day match-up following a 1-1 draw at LMU last week. The Broncos have conference wins over Portland and Seattle this season.
Niv Berkovitz carries the torch for the Santa Clara offense with six goals and 13 points. In goal, Jackson Ozburn has started the bulk of matches for the Broncos, sporting a 1.01 goals against average with 44 saves and seven clean sheets.
Pacific and Santa Clara meet for the 12th time since 2014. The Tigers seek their first road victory over the Broncos since a 4-3 win during the 2017 campaign.
