STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific volleyball program put up three hard fought sets against San Diego on Saturday afternoon, but ended on the wrong side of each set (12-25, 19-25, 18-25) at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Freshman
Mazi Smith continued her run of productive matches, posting a team-high seven kills on an efficient .312 hitting percentage, her fifth consecutive match with five or more kills. She also contributed two digs to the final ledger.
Finishing with five kills each were graduate
Olivia Keller, redshirt freshman
Mila Stojakovic and senior
Logan Blutreich.
Sophomore
Alessia Couchond led the team facilitating the offense with 14 assists. Fellow sophomore
Alyson Cox was behind her at eight assists.
Pivoting to the defensive side of the court, Blutreich and Cox anchored the middle, each posting a solo block while the former added two block assists and the latter a singular block assist. Senior
Jayhlin Swain held down the back row with ten digs and Keller put up nine digs of her own.
The homestand continues for Pacific (7-8, 1-3 WCC) next week, first hosting Saint Mary's on Thursday at 6 p.m. before welcoming San Francisco to the Spanos Center on Saturday night at 7 p.m. to punctuate an afternoon of Homecoming festivities.
Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
