CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Pacific women's soccer program continues West Coast Conference action, facing Oregon State at noon on Saturday at Paul Lorenz Field.
The Tigers (4-6-5, 1-3-3 WCC) will meet the Beavers (2-9-4, 1-6 WCC) for the first time in Corvallis, Oregon as WCC foes.
Pacific rides a three-game unbeaten streak into the competition with a most-recent scoreless draw at home against San Francisco on Wednesday. It's the second largest unbeaten streak of the season for the Tigers, who seek their first WCC road victory of the season this weekend.
Leading the Pacific offense is junior
Whitney Garn with five points on the year. Garn scored the game-tying goal at LMU last Saturday to help the Tigers earn a 1-1 draw on the road. Garn is tied with sophomore
Sierah McCallum for the team lead in goals with two apiece.
Freshman
Janelli Villagran has yet to score in 2025 but is tied for the team lead in shot attempts with 24 to her name. Villagran has recorded at least one shot attempt in every game of WCC play this year.
The Tigers have relied upon freshman
Lis Van Herwijnen of late to defend the goal. The native of Veldhoven, Netherlands has collected three clean sheets and 42 saves in ten starts – both of which rank among the top ten of WCC goalkeepers.
Oregon State has two wins on the year, including one in conference action over San Diego on Oct. 12 by a 4-1 margin. The other victory came against Utah in Salt Lake City with a 2-1 score.
Four Beavers are tied in the goals department with two each as Adele Schwab has been the most effective offensive player with seven points. Schwab has scored both of her goals during conference play, one against San Diego and the other at LMU.
Mya Sanchez has started every game in goal for the Beavers, sporting a 1.73 goals against average with 81 saves, which is the second-most among WCC goalkeepers.
The Tigers and Beavers meet for the seventh time in the series history that dates back to 1995. Pacific lost last year to Oregon State at Knoles Field by a 2-1 score, but during the 2023 season in Corvallis, the Tigers secured a 3-1 victory.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ for the scheduled noon kick-off.
