VB Preview vs. Santa Clara 2025

Pacific Volleyball Hosts Santa Clara in Annual Dig Pink Game

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific volleyball program will be raising awareness in the fight against cancer on Saturday at noon when it welcomes Santa Clara to the Alex G. Spanos Center.

In addition to Saturday's theme, the match also marks 50 years since Pacific's first-ever conference match (then a member of the NCAC). On October 15, 1975 the Tigers brought Santa Clara to Stockton and now 50 years later, and conference foes once again, the series history is decidedly in the favor of Pacific. The Tigers enter the match with a 40-16 edge and have won four of the last five meetings, including the last two at home.

To make it five of the last six, the team will need a big performance from senior Logan Blutreich, who showed out last week to the tune of 9.5 kills per match on an efficient .356 hitting percentage. The senior was also active in the middle, tallying a team leading seven total blocks. Her 9.5 kills a match were outdone only by graduate Olivia Keller, who put up 15.5 kills per match as Pacific's primary option offensively.

Freshman Hannah Koester broke back into the rotation and against San Francisco recorded her 100th career kill. Fellow freshman Bella Gutierrez joined Koester at the century mark but instead recorded her 100th career dig against the Dons.

After hitting a season high .235 as a team last game, the Tigers will look to continue the offensive efficiency that has netted them a 27-6 record over the past three seasons in games in which the team has produced a .200 hitting percentage or higher. Three of those 27 such matches have come against Santa Clara, including two matches hitting over .300 in 2023.

Saturday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
