LOS ANGELES – Riding momentum into the match, Pacific women's soccer squares up against LMU at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Sullivan Field.
The Tigers (4-6-3, 1-3-1 WCC) are coming off a 2-1 victory over West Coast Conference preseason favorite Santa Clara during Homecoming Weekend, seeking to carry that energy into the road tilt at the Lions (5-5-1, 2-3 WCC).
Sophomore
Kayla Pham scored the game-winner last Saturday for her first career goal as a Tiger. Sophomore
Gianna Gagliano also collected the first goal of her collegiate career in the win over the Broncos.
The Tigers have nine players who have registered at least one goal this season, showcasing their depth up the field. Pacific distributes its offense effectively through fifth year
Aniela Jensen, who leads her team with two assists and four points across 13 starts.
Sophomore
Sierah McCallum has been a powerful presence up front as well, tallying a team-high two goals on 21 shot attempts.
Defensively, freshman
Lis Van Herwijnen paces the Tigers with a 2.38 goals against average with 32 saves to her name in eight starts. Van Herwijnen has collected four or more saves in each of her last four outings.
The Lions opened West Coast Conference play winning a pair before dropping their last three matches in their conference slate. Most recently, they lost last Saturday in Pullman, Washington to Washington State by a 2-0 margin.
Callan Harrington has been the top goal scorer for LMU with four goals on a team-high 17 shots on goal. The next closest player in that department is Taylor Person with five shots on goal. She also has a goal and an assist. Kylie Dobbs leads the Lions in WCC play with a pair of goals in five games.
JJ Hoover has manned the cage for the bulk of starts for the Lions, owning a 1.48 goals against average with 68 saves on the year, which ranks second among WCC goalkeepers.
The Tigers and Lions meet for the 14th time in the series history that began in 2001. Pacific has won the last two road contests against LMU, claiming victory most recently in Los Angeles during the 2023 season by a 2-1 score. Jensen collected an assist on the game's opening goal in the 33rd minute. Pacific owns a 3-3 all-time record on the road against LMU.
The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ for the scheduled 7 p.m. kick-off.
