DAVIS, Calif. - The Pacific Men's Tennis team delivered a strong showing this past weekend at the UC Davis Invitational, competing against a deep field that included players from Cal, UC Davis, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, Sacramento State, Nevada, and Gonzaga.
Throughout the three-day event, sophomore
Jonty Giesen and redshirt senior
Terence Das showcased fight and resilience across both singles and doubles play.
Friday Highlights:
Giesen and Das opened the tournament with a hard-fought 8–6 doubles win over Santa Clara before narrowly falling to UC Davis. In singles action, Das took down an in-conference foe from Saint Mary's while Giesen delivered one of the day's biggest upsets, defeating the tournament's number two seed.
Saturday Highlights:
The pair dropped a close doubles match to California. Giesen battled in an intense singles match versus UC Davis before regrouping for a dramatic afternoon win over Nevada. Das also split his matches, falling to California before bouncing back with a dominant win over a second California oppoenent.
Sunday Highlights:
Pacific closed the weekend strong, with Giesen and Das defeating UC Davis's in doubles. In singles, Das fell to Gonzaga while Giesen capped off an impressive weekend with a thrilling super-tiebreak win over Sacramento State.
The Tigers will continue their fall season as they prepare for the ITA Northwest Regional Championships hosted by Pacific next week.
