Pacific Hosts San Francisco Wednesday

STOCKTON, Calif. – Returning from two straight on the road, the Pacific men's soccer program welcomes San Francisco for Latinx Heritage Night and Staff and Faculty Appreciation Night at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Knoles Field.

The Tigers (3-8, 1-2 WCC) are coming off their first win in West Coast Conference play, earning a 1-0 shutout victory at Saint Mary's. Pacific looks to ride that first shutout of the season into another conference tilt against the Dons (6-3-1,1-2 WCC).

Senior and captain Luca Baltzer has been a go-to for offensive production, leading the Tigers with three goals and two assists for a team-high eight points on the season through 11 contests.

Senior Jose Maria Barrera is one of five Tigers to have suited up for all of Pacific's games this season, tallying a goal, an assist and 12 shot attempts so far.
Like Barrera, sophomore Ezekiel Padilla has played in every game in 2025, tied for the team lead with nine shots on goal, although he has taken a team-best 21 shot attempts.

In goal, junior Mateus Ruiz-Hurst has started the bulk of the contests for the Tigers, but junior Milo Risenhoover drew the starting assignment most recently in the 1-0 victory over the Gaels. With the five-save clean sheet, Risenhoover was named WCC Defensive Player of the Week, marking the first time a Tiger has won the accolade since Joshua Moya following the season opener in 2024. Risenhoover has yet to allow a goal in two appearances this season, stopping all 20 shot attempts he's faced.

The Dons opened up their conference slate losing to nationally ranked Oregon State and San Diego before winning 1-0 over Gonzaga at home last time out. USF has four shutouts on the year, including against similar opponents in UC Davis, San Jose State and Sacramento State. Wednesday's contest marks the first of three straight on the road for the Dons, who will play at Santa Clara and Stanford over the next two weeks.

USF is led offensively by Brayden Beason with a team-high five goals, 11 points and 25 shot attempts. Beason scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory over the Bulldogs in the last outing. Beason scored a brace in the 3-0 victory over SJSU earlier in the season.

Lucas Jones has been the main choice manning the bet for the Dons, sporting a 1.00 goals against average with 29 saves to his name. His .784 save percentage is tops among WCC goalkeepers while his five shutouts rank third in the league.

Pacific and USF meet for the 13th time since 2014. The Tigers own a 3-3 all-time home record over the Dons and seek their first home victory over USF since a 5-1 result during the 2021 campaign, marking the largest margin of victory by Pacific over the Dons in the series history.

The match can be viewed live on ESPN+ with Dennis Ackerman on the call for the 7 p.m. scheduled kick-off.
