Pacific Gears Up for Trip to Washington State Thursday, Return Home Saturday against Oregon State

PULLMAN, Wash. – Taking on the pair of newcomers in the West Coast Conference, the Pacific men's basketball program will travel to Washington State for a 6:30 p.m. game Thursday at Beasley Coliseum before returning home Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest against Oregon State at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
 
Both Washington State (13-3, 3-0 WCC) and Oregon State (12-4, 2-1 WCC) are in their first year in the league.
 
Three of Pacific's (5-13, 0-4 WCC) top four scorers are Canadian. It includes senior Elias Ralph (17.1 ppg), junior Elijah Fisher (16.9 ppg) and junior Jefferson Koulibaly (7.6 ppg).
 
Ralph ranks top-five in the WCC in scoring, field goal percentage, offensive rebounding and blocks. He's scored in double-figures in every game this year and has six double-doubles.
 
In conference games, Fisher is averaging 20.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting .643 from the field. Ralph records 16.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game and posts a .521 clip from the floor.
 
Fisher ranks fourth in the country in both free throws made (99) and free throw attempts (130). Over the last three games against San Diego, San Francisco and Pepperdine, Fisher is 21-26 (.808) from the line.
 
Junior Lamar Washington ranks seventh in the country in total assists with 104 and 16th in the nation in assists per game with 6.2. He also scores in double-figures with 11.2 points per outing.
 
The Cougars have begun their WCC tenure with wins over Portland 89-73, LMU 73-59 and San Francisco 91-82. Washington State's only losses on the year came to Iowa, SMU and Washington.
 
Washington State is 7-0 at home this year. The Cougars have six student-athletes averaging in double-figures including Cedric Coward with 17.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
 
Oregon State defeated Portland 89-79 and San Diego 81-54 at home, but fell 82-61 at LMU. The Beavers are 10-1 at home with their only loss coming to Oregon 78-75.
 
Oregon State ranks top-10 in the nation in both scoring defense (62.6 ppg) and three-point percentage (.388). Michael Rataj leads the team with 16.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per outing.
 
NOTES
- Thursday will be the first-ever meeting between Pacific and Washington State.
 
- The Tigers are 2-1 all-time against Oregon State including a 2-0 mark at home as the last meeting was a 72-66 home victory on Dec. 17, 1994.
 
- Four of Pacific's five wins this year have come from when the opposition has been held to under 33 percent from three-point range.  In all five of the Tigers wins, they've outrebounded the opposition and scored more points in the paint.
 
- Pacific's last road win came on Nov. 10, 2023 when it beat Cal 87-79. The last conference road win came on Jan. 28, 2023 when it beat Santa Clara 95-89.
 
- The Tigers are looking for their first conference win since Feb. 25, 2023 when they beat Portland 81-77 on Senior Day.
 
- Pacific is one win away from matching its season win total from last year and one win away from surpassing its conference win total.
 
- Pacific is 807-457 all-time at home and 344-224 in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
